Gmail offline bug in Chrome
If you’ve been having problems with Gmail crashing Google Chrome in offline mode, don’t feel alone. As of Thursday an update to all development versions of the browser cause Chrome to crash as soon as you log in to Gmail, if configured for offline use.
Until an update is released to fix this bug you have only two options. Offline mode in Chrome can be turned off by going to Options > Under the Hood and removing the Gmail related entries under ”Change Gears settings”. This deletes any offline information you have stored on your computer relating to Gmail.
If you choose to keep your offline data you can simply avoid using the development version of Chrome by updating the browser to the beta (Windows | Mac | Linux) or stable (Windows only) builds. Windows users can also use the Chrome Channel Changer to switch versions.
