esetthumbAfter almost 15 years of installing and using over 30 different brands of virus scanners that have become popular, I have finally found the diamond in the rough. I have been using ESET Nod32 Antivirus for the past 365 days and highly recommend it to anyone.

ESET NOD32 outperforms all other virus scanners on the market in benchmarks and virus protection. This means not only does it protect you, it also uses minimal system resources and as an avid gamer I can assure you this is very important.

The GUI is sweet and to the point. All buttons are where they should be, everything is accessible, and disabling protection in general is a simple right-click away. The default settings are perfect for the average user and if you’re a power-user you can always enable the advanced view.

ESET also brings to the table one of the fastest full system scans I have ever seen. After testing 10 products on this PC alone, ESET completed the scan almost twice as fast as the closest competitor. So… it scans faster than any other… and detects more viruses? You can’t beat that.

At $39 for a single-user license and $27 for yearly renewals, and free technical support, ESET NOD32 is my #1 recommendation for keeping your computer safe and secure.

ESET 4.2 was CNET Editor's Choice of April 2009, which can be seen on their review page http://reviews.cnet.com/editors-choice/

Your link says CNET editor's choice, but I don't find any award on CNET's site for ESET 4. What's up?

Mike, I agree with you 100% I was an avid fan of Avira like you for almost 2 years. I was satisfied even after two small viruses slipped through. But early last year I got the infamous Vundo virus that was already very popular and Avira should have easily been able to stop it yet somehow it slipped through and destroyed my brand new Emachines. That's when I found ESET and haven't looked back since.

NOD32 is the BEST so far. I have been an Avira Premium AV user for years and switched to NOD32 when my AVira failed to detect Hakaglan AH virus in my computer. NOD32 wiped the virus instantly after install. Awesome AV software indeed.

I have been using “ESET Smart Security 4″ for six months now and LOVE it! Easy to install, easy to use, and I can even leave it running when playing “Audio Surf”. I started with the trial version, after the trial period was over I opted to go for a 2yr contract and currently have it installed on on 2 pc's. I have not had to use their tech support but if it is anything like the product, it will be top notch. Two thumbs up from me!
