Stop 0x000000D1 or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The Stop 0xD1 messages indicates that the system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. Drivers that have used improper addresses typically cause this error.

Possible Resolutions:

• Stop 0xD1 messages can occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If a driver is listed by name, disable, remove, or roll back that driver to confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Using updated software is especially important for backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, DVD playback, and CD mastering tools.

I have this problem only when I use my laptop at my office. If I use it at home, it works properly! Same computer, same operation (just switching it on)…at home it runs at my office it does not. What is it? Does it make sense?

michtiozzo, do you use any peripherals at the office like a USB mouse, a printer, etc, that you don't use at home?

  • michtiozzo

Thanks AlexPC for you answer, but I can assure you that i do not use any peripherals or other hardware. I just switch it on and when it is loading windows suddenly a blue page come up with the following message: “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL”. this happens at my office. What it is even more weird is that I do the same simple operation (to switch my pc on) at my home and there my pc works properly. it loads windows and then i can work normally. What can it be?

Does this only happen when the battery is plugged into the wall at the office?

Do you use WiFi and is the network different at the office than it is at home?

  • michtiozzo

No, it does not matter if the battery is plugged on or not. Yes the pc automatically search for WiFi signals, and the network is different! Thanks

Ok michtiozzo, more than likely this is a driver problem being caused by your WiFi card. To be sure of this, you can try disabling your WiFi internet connection before you go to the office. To disable your internet connection go to Network Connections (in the Control Panel) and right click on the connection and click Disable. You will enable it the same way. Go to the office and turn the PC on and if it boots up successfully you can be assured it is your Network card or it's drivers that is the problem.
